Highly fire-resistant Kaiflex KKplus insulation system now with Kaiflex RT-KKplus s1/s2 pipe supports

In order to guarantee a high level of personal safety in the event of fire, the overall planning concept must address the issue of smoke prevention and smoke reduction. This means that the insulation materials used in a building must not just be fire-resistant, but should also produce as little smoke as possible in the event of a fire. Planners and processors have a weighty responsibility in this respect. As a developer of modern technologies in the field of elastomeric insulating materials, it is important for Kaimann to offer intelligent complete solutions that take this responsibility into account. For this reason, Kaimann has now extended the innovative Kaiflex KKplus insulation system to include the corresponding Kaiflex RT-KKplus s1/s2 pipe supports.

With Kaiflex KKplus s1, Kaimann has launched a highly fire-resistant insulation system with a low smoke development. Thanks to INCERAM cladding, the sheets of the s1 system are classified as “actively fire-proof”. With its innovative patented KaiCene technology, the tubes meet the requirements of the European smoke class s1, even when uncoated. For this reason Kaiflex KKplus s1 is particularly suitable for insulating buildings in which the highest fire and personal protection standards apply. Kaiflex KKplus s2 also makes a significant contribution to personal protection through a limited smoke emission in accordance with European class B-s2, d0: escape routes remain visible and the risk of suffocation and poisoning is significantly reduced.

Reliable fire protection across all system components

The same applies to the new Kaiflex RT-KKplus s1/s2 pipe supports: thanks to INCERAM cladding, Kaiflex RT-KKplus s1/s2 offers low smoke emissions and high flame retardance at the same time. In this way, the pipe support ideally complements the Kaiflex KKplus premium insulating system. The Kaiflex KKplus s1 and Kaiflex KKplus s2 systems meet the demanding European smoke standards with their BL-s1, d0 and BL-s2, d0 ratings.

A combination of particularly pressure-resistant PUR/PIR foam support segments, which are embedded in the Kaiflex KKplus insulation material and protected by a particularly robust INCERAM cladding, is used here. Like Kaiflex KKplus products, the pipe supports also offer a reliable solution to prevent thermal bridges and at the same time prevent pipe corrosion. The integrated water vapour barrier effect and the self-adhesive connections ensure reliable thermal decoupling and long-term performance throughout the entire system.

The further system programme includes Kaiflex 415plus special ad-hesive as well as the intelligent self-adhesive joint Kaifix ECplus. Kaiflex 415plus special adhesive has been specially developed to bond Kaiflex KKplus: it is low-smoke, drip-resistant and has a high final strength. A particularly convenient and environmentally friendly method of adhesion can be achieved with Kaifix ECplus, a system consisting of self-adhesive-coated R-FORCE carrier material for rapid joint bonding.

Further advantages of the Kaiflex KKplus insulation system at a glance

Kaimann’s premium insulation system reliably prevents the formation of condensation and pipe corrosion in the long term. Kaiflex KKplus s1 proves its high thermal efficiency with a lambda value of λ ≤0.038 W/(m·K).

With lambda values of λ ≤0.033 W/(m·K) (tube format) and λ ≤0.038 W/(m·K) (sheet format), Kaiflex KKplus s2 easily meets the thermal requirements for very good insulation. Thanks to KaiCene technology, Kaiflex KKplus s2 sheets have a lower bulk density and thus an improved insulating effect compared to other low-smoke products. Another advantage is the easy processing: the insulation sheets equipped with KaiCene technology come for the first time without coating and are therefore easier to handle.
