Product benefits
The insulation of pipelines is critical for the efficiency of a solar thermal installation. Uninsulated or poorly insulated pipes release valuable heat into the environment, thereby decreasing the overall efficiency of the system. The less heat is lost on the way from the rooftop collector to the buffer storage tank in the cellar, the more fuel is saved. To prevent energy losses, all of the pipes running between the collector and the storage tank must be insulated.
Kaiflex Solar EPDM retains its flexibility and full functionality in the temperature range between +150 °C (+175 °C) and –50 °C.Thanks to its resistance to high temperatures and good thermal conductivity of λ40 °C ≤0.042 W/(m·K), Kaiflex Solar EPDM is suitable for solar thermal systems, where fluid pipes can reach temperatures over +100 °C.
High UV resistance
Outdoor use places particularly high demands. The insulation material is exposed to wide temperature variations, UV radiation and ozone. Kaiflex Solar EPDM features excellent UV and ozone resistance, and thereby contributes to the efficiency of thermal solar systems.
Easy installation
Kaiflex Solar EPDM is available as endless tubing. Special accessories like Kaiflex EPDM adhesive and EPDM tape make installation easy.
