The areas of application for insulation materials in building services are wide-ranging - our elastomeric Kaiflex insulation materials must therefore also meet different requirements.
In refrigeration and air-conditioning systems as well as ventilation and in cryogenic technology, the focus is on energy efficiency and corrosion protection. Good technical insulation helps to maintain the medium temperature in the pipes and ducts, reduce energy costs and prevent corrosion under insulation (CUI). Since the medium temperature in the pipes is well below room temperature, especially in low-temperature technology, there is a risk of condensation forming easily on the outside of the pipes due to a lack of insulation. In the area of ventilation ducts, Kaiflex also provides sound insulation.
In heating systems and heat pumps and in solar thermal systems, the focus is on preventing heat loss. In cold and hot water pipes, the installation of insulating materials ensures that the intended temperature is maintained, thus preventing the risk of legionella. At the pipe penetration of the domestic and drinking water lines into the building, Kaiflex helps to avoid thermal bridges and thus energy losses - at the same time, they reduce the risk of pipe icing in cold water applications.
