Job profile of an industrial mechanic

As an industrial mechanic, you will work in our production and maintenance departments. You will ensure that the machines and production facilities are always ready for operation. You will produce device parts and assemblies for machines and the production facilities, set them up or modify them. You will learn how to use design drawings, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems and assemblies. This occupation requires technical understanding, skilled craftsmanship, fine motor skills and good results in physics and mathematics.

Focal points of training

  • Fundamental principles of metal working, such as manual and mechanical machining techniques
  • Manufacturing and processing device parts, machine components and machine assemblies
  • Assembling components
  • Adjusting and checking machine functions
  • Taking care of tools and machinery
  • Creating maintenance and inspection plans
  • Performing quality inspections
  • Documenting work and results
  • Taking into consideration quality requirements and implementing corporate quality management guidelines
  • Installing, maintaining and servicing control systems

Requirements

  • Minimum requirements: Secondary education with good results in mathematics and physics
  • Training period: 3.5 years​
