Industrial clerks deal with the commercial and operational aspects of the company. This occupation requires an interest in economic interrelationships, a willingness to learn and personal responsibility.

As part of your training, you will learn how to compare quotations as part of the materials management process and negotiate with suppliers, for example. In the production management process, you will plan, manage and monitor the production of our products. Calculations, quotations, orders and invoices will form part of your duties in Sales. While in Accounting and Finance, you will learn how to schedule, book and monitor commercial transactions.

  • Determining material requirements, obtaining quotations and purchasing commodities

  • Reviewing and processing enquiries and quotations
  • Generating outgoing invoices
  • Dispatching goods, generating shipping documents and processing customs documentation
  • Planning and carrying out advertising and sales promotion campaigns
  • Checking incoming invoices and executing payment
  • Booking commercial transactions
  • Performing cost accounting and year-end procedures
  • Drawing up employment contracts, references and other documents
  • Managing personnel files and statistics


  • ​Minimum requirements: Advanced technical college certificate or upper secondary education with good results in German, English and mathematics
  • Training period: 2.5 years with the option of shortening to 2 years
