The flexible Kaiflex Pyrostar fire protection mat seals off pipes at ceiling and wall penetrations. This glass fabric with graphite-based intumescent coating on both sides foams up at temperatures from +200 to +300 °C, tightly sealing off wall penetrations when applied according to German building code.

Kaiflex Pyrostar can be used with Kaimann Kaiflex KKplus s1/s2/s3, Kaiflex HT s2, and Kaiflex HFplus s2 insulation, and achieves safe, proven fire protection for combustible and non-combustible pipes passing through solid ceilings and walls, as well as light panels.

Safely restrict fires

The R 90 classification (protecting pipe penetrations for 90 minutes) for construction materials is the standard most commonly applied worldwide. Even in large, high-traffic buildings, Kaiflex Pyrostar ensures an evacuation time of 90 minutes in accordance with European standards, thanks to its R90 classification. 

In case of fire, intumescent mats in accordance with fire resistance classes R 90 or R 120 keep fire, smoke and combustion gases from spreading to neighbouring fire compartments. This reliably prevents the danger of secondary fire or self-ignition from high temperatures on the side of a wall away from the fire.

Simple installation

Kaiflex Pyrostar can be used in building classes 2 and up, according to German building code. The anthracite-coloured matting is 1 mm thick and 125 mm wide, and is offered in lengths of 5 and 10 m. It is economical and simple to use.  The winding wire required for installation is included.When installation is complete, all that is required is a declaration of conformity of installation per proof of usability/application, and the addition of the required signage for all seals.
