The mountings are frequently a weak point in insulation of ventilation ducts. Insulation needs to be full-coverage in order to avoid heat bridges and the associated energy losses. The Kaiflex FT duct support was designed specifically for mounting ventilation ducts, and creates a thermal and acoustic decoupling between sheet metal ventilation ducts and their mountings. This inhibits the formation of condensation and corrosion. Furthermore, vibrations affect the mounting system less and thereby the building structure, which substantially improves acoustic comfort.

For inside and outside

Embedded in foam based on synthetic rubber, multiple PF elements connected by metal load-distribution panels keep the ventilation duct spaced to the carrier rail. In combination with Kaiflex KKplus s3 sheet material, this gives a highly diffusion-proof layer. Kaiflex FT duct support can be used inside and outside in all functional areas of a ventilation system, and is especially good for outdoor use. It is used in building services engineering, industrial plants, and the marine/offshore sector.

Insulation in a system

As an extension of the Kaiflex KKplus s3 insulation system product range, Kaiflex FT duct support comes in 13, 19 and 32 mm insulation thickness, and so fits the most used thicknesses of Kaiflex KKplus s3 sheet material.

For installation, it’s easy to use a knife from the Kaimann accessory line to cut Kaiflex FT duct support to the circumference of the duct. Kaiflex special adhesive can be used to attach it to the sheet material without reducing the insulation thickness of the duct or having to insulate the entire mounting system. Thus, Kaiflex FT duct support saves money right from installation. The cut and connection points of the insulation system are reduced to the technical minimum, which greatly improves the protection of the long-term function.
