As part of a cooperation project between Kaimann GmbH and the mechanical engineering department of the Richard-von-Weizsäcker-Berufskolleg, students from the technical college for mechanical engineering successfully presented their concepts for a mixing conveyor system.

Saint-Gobain, which has pledged to become carbon neutral by 2050, announces that the "Science Based Targets"1 initiative has matched its goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as compared to the organization's new net-zero standard and the Paris Climate Agreement, Saint-Gobain is the first company in its industry in the world to receive this accreditation since the new standard was introduced late last year.

As the world’s population continues to grow and natural resources become scarce, climate change has become a daily reality and an unprecedented challenge. Buildings account for 33% of global energy consumption and 39% of greenhouse gas emissions. Hence the importance of energy efficiency and carbon neutrality for sustainable buildings today. What few of us have in mind is that HVAC can represent up to 80% of the total energy consumption of buildings.

Thermal Energy Audit helps us find potential savings in the plant. This involves using thermal imaging cameras to look for opportunities to save energy and reduce CO2 emissions in production. Weak points are identified and immediately linked to potential measures, with the payback period calculated.
