Relaunch of the KaiCalc insulation thickness calculator by Kaimann

With the optimized online calculation tool KaiCalc (www.kaicalc.com), Kaimann GmbH has again established and positioned a new insulation thickness calculator for technical insulation in heating and cooling applications. The technology is based on the proven TechCalc online tool by Saint-Gobain’s sister company Isover. KaiCalc offers a wide variety of thermal calculation scenarios, and after just a few inputs delivers reliable and detailed results including concrete, country-specific dimension recommendations. The calculation process is based on current technical standards and rules (DIN EN ISO 12241, VDI 2055 and C 680).

KaiCalc has now been expanded and adapted to address the requirements of technical insulation with elastomer insulations, especially in cooling and air conditioning applications. The tool provides optimum assistance to planners and installers in determining the correct insulation thickness for industrial, building and marine systems. Practical: Along with the calculation results, the application provides appropriate product dimensions from the Kaimann product range for 17 countries.

The ideal insulation thickness in just a few clicks

The KaiCalc interface provides intuitive, step-by-step user guidance. It is optimized for use on end devices with generous displays, like iPads or Android tablets. The familiar interface from TechCalc 2.0 is designed for the requirements of these end devices, making the Kaimann application easy to use on the road.

In the version now launched, KaiCalc calculates the optimum insulation thickness to prevent condensation, the heat flow density, the surface temperature, temperature changes in flowing and stationary fluids, and their freezing time. In addition, it calculates the necessary insulation thickness to prevent condensation in a single layer or multiple layers - all depending on the structural and variable parameters such as the fluid, the ambient temperature and the humidity.
