Green Guide rating ‘A’ for Kaiflex pipe insulation
BRE (Building Research Establishment) has recently added pipe insulation products to the Green Guide.
Nitrile rubber insulation products including Kaiflex materials, receive an A rating for a number of application areas within specific building types.
Green Guide ratings for Kaiflex NBR insulation
The Green Guide ratings compare the environmental impact of construction products on a scale of A+ to E, with A+ referring to products with the lowest environmental impact and E rated products having a high impact.
An A rating for nitrile rubber insulation validates the low environmental impact of Kaiflex, helping consultants to deliver sustainable buildings.
Pipe insulation ratings are defined for application areas within specific building types. BRE provides ratings for the following building types: Domestic, Health, Commercial, Industrial, Retail and Education.
BRE has added 6 different application types for pipe insulation - each representing a different range of operating temperatures. In each category the Green Guide provides summary ratings for the most commonly used material types. For Kaiflex products these ratings are as follows:
