Everyone is familiar with the colourful ‘A-E’ energy labels that you see on just about everything from lightbulbs to entire buildings but did you know that the European Commission is currently in the middle of a consultation process to change the way that the labelling scheme works in the future?
The European Partnership for Energy and the Environment (EPEE) has made a strong statement against the proposed new energy labelling standards that’s worth reading.
Insulation products aren’t individually rated in the ‘A-E’ scale (energy saving performance can be worked out using our thermal calculator) but the proposed legislation would affect energy ratings for heating systems, chillers and air-conditioning units.
